The 4 session workshop at KKV will include discussion on dreaming up sculpture that has impact through size as well as unpacking the nuts and bolts of large scale building. We will work from an idea and create " maquettes"  (small scale models) to work out the design as well as understand the interface between the sculpture and its environment. We will identify how large scale sculpture invites interactivity and can serve as a public monument. Learn how to work in steel, the tools of the trade, fabrication sequence using MIG welding, Plasma cutting and available workshop machines. We will de-mystify metal and learn basic metallurgy.

There will be the possibility of extra shop time at KKV if needed. Workshop times 10-15:00. Previous experience working with steel is helpful but not mandatory.
